Which former Everton target do you wish the club had signed? 🫣

Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay.

“There was a deal (for McTominay). I’m not gonna name, there was a player who’s going the other way, and all that business, and I couldn’t get it over the line.

“I reckon that could have changed everything for me.

“What a player – I couldn’t believe he wasn’t playing at Man U, I couldn’t get my around (the fact that) he wasn’t playing. I couldn’t believe it.”

It was reported back in 2024 that Amadou Onana was in talks to join Manchester United in the swap deal for McTominay.

Onana ended up going to Aston Villa instead, whilst McTominay made the switch to Italian giants Napoli, where he has established himself as one of the best players in the world.

The former Everton target finished 18th in the Ballon d’Or awards last year and is now thought to be worth around £70m.

Certainly one that got away for the Toffees.
