Full-back says Unai Emery has made him a better player and person.
Villa ace Matty Cash has explained how working under Unai Emery has transformed his entire view on football.
The right-back says the Spaniard’s high standards have helped him learn what it takes to be a professional at the top level of the sport.
Cash, currently away on international duty with Poland as he targets a second World Cup finals appearance, has remained a mainstay of the team during Emery’s three-and-a-half years in charge.
He told Stan Sports: “I have a really good relationship with the manager and the coaches.
“Ever since he came in he has been up front and honest with me, told me where I need to improve and how I can improve.
“The coaches are really good with that as well, doing a lot of work on the field and off the field too.
“He is really good to work with, really demanding and challenging so every day you have to be focused - no late nights and stuff.
“He has changed my whole view on football and changed me to be a better professional and person, showing us how you have to live to be at the top.”
Villa are back in action on April 9 when they travel to Bologna for the first leg of a Europa League quarter-final.
Emery’s men also sit fourth in the Premier League with just seven matches remaining and Cash continued: “We have to keep being consistent, keep trying to be on that level.
“We have a good chance in the Europa League. Hopefully come the end of the season we can be in a final and maybe win a trophy.”
