Leeds United striker Joel Piroe has made a determined vow after a proud moment but ultimately a painful international setback.
Piroe went into straight into the starting line-up for Friday’s Bolivia semi-final and was heavily involved as his side took a 1-0 lead, only to suffer a 2-1 defeat which ended their World Cup dreams.
Piroe, though, has vowed that Suriname will be back even stronger as he declared his pride on making his full international debut despite an admission about how it ended.
Taking to his Instagram page, Piroe posted a series of photographs of himself in action for Suriname together with the message: “A proud moment, but not how we imagined it.
“Had and felt a huge amount of support. We will come back stronger.”
