The family of Peter Padgett have confirmed details of a public event celebrating the life of the Padgett’s Motorcycles founder, after he passed away last month aged 94.
The event is set to take place at the Leeds United football stadium on Elland Road on April 9, 2026. It will be held in the Hisense Leeds Lounge Suite within the East Stand, beginning at 12:30pm and running into the evening, with an open invitation extended to all who wish to attend.

Earlier that day, a private family cremation will be held, with relatives asking for privacy during the morning service.
Before this, Peter will make a final journey past his famous Batley motorcycle showroom at 10am, giving friends, customers, and members of the biking community an opportunity to pay their respects.
Padgett's Motorcycles family
Well known as the visionary behind one of the UK’s biggest dealerships and most successful road racing teams, Padgett’s influence spanned decades and helped shape the careers of many of the sport’s greatest names, from Hailwood to McGuinness – and many more.
Following the morning’s proceedings, attendees are invited to gather at Elland Road for what the family describe as an informal celebration, with guests encouraged to wear whatever they feel comfortable in, including team clothing.
In place of flowers, the family have requested donations to the Rob Vine Fund, a volunteer-run charity supporting medical and rescue services across Isle of Man motorsport events.
Padgett’s Motorcycles have also confirmed all sites will be closed for the day as a mark of respect.
The MCN take
Few names carry such weight in British motorcycling circles as Padgett. The man is nothing short of a legend in our world and so for anybody able to attend next month, taking the opportunity to pay respect is surely a worthy expenditure of your time, indeed.
