Nottingham Forest player ‘could change air’ for €35m – Director sounds out deal

Nottingham Forest attacker Dan Ndoye

Despite obvious ability, Dan Ndoye has proved to be a disappointing signing for Nottingham Forest. The Switzerland international’s early exit is very much possible.

The Midlands club paid €42m to sign the winger last summer. He scored on his debut and showed glimpses of his real quality but things haven’t really gone to the next level for him.

So far at Nottingham Forest, Ndoye has contributed to only four goals in all competitions. In the Premier League, he hasn’t scored since the opening game and increasingly, he has also lost his starting spot.

In January,Sport Witness covered Inter Milan’s interest in the attacker. A deal was naturally very complex at that point but the Italian giants remain keen on the former Bologna star.

Ndoye can fix Inter problems

Today’s edition of TuttoSport look at Inter’s desperate need for pace and adventure in attack. This had led to them pursuing a move for Moussa Diaby in January but it never really materialised.

Their problems have remained the same, with Cristian Chivu seeking a dribbler in his side for next season. That is why Nottingham Forest’s Ndoye is viewed as a possible summer target, with director Piero Auslio having previously sounded out the Swiss player.

The 25-year-old was of interest to the Nerazzurri even during his time at Bologna. The newspaper note how he continues to underperform in England and this can turn into an excellent opportunity for Chivu and Ausilio.

Now, it is believed he ‘could change air’ for€35m in the summer. This would allow Nottingham Forest to not lose out on much as part of a permanent deal.

Our take: Nottingham Forest should be open to exit

If Vitor Pereira’s side earn €35m from Ndoye’s sale, it should go down as a good deal for them.

Since the attacker joined on a five-year deal for €42m, he will weight around €33m on Nottingham Forest’s books by the season’s end. This would mean that anything around €35m would go down as a capital gain.

For a player who now seems unrecognisable, that would be quite a good deal. Besides, it won’t be a surprise if Ndoye actually wants out from City Ground in the summer.

He isn’t used to lingering around the relegation spots. At Bologna, he played in the Champions League and was also important in their march towards Europa League qualification. A return to Italy would suit him quite a bit. His ability to play at wing-back will come in handy to Inter, who play a 3-5-2 under Chivu.

All in all, a move to the San Siro could actually turn out to be more than useful for all parties involved.
