Ex-Wolves striker opens up on Molineux 'pressure' after January move

Jorgen Strand Larsen left Wolves back in the transfer window in a £43m deal - having endured a rotten first half of the campaign.

Having bagged 14 goals during his first season at Molineux - the Norwegian international failed to hit the heights in the second season.

Following a dreadful start to the campaign that saw Vitor Pereira sacked - Strand Larsen managed just one goal before a move away from the club was secured.

He had been the subject of rejected bids from Newcastle United last summer - but finally secured his exit in a £43m to Selhurst Park, which could rise to £48m.

During the international break, Strand Larsen has opened up about the struggles of the first half of the season and the ‘outside pressure’ he was under at Molineux.

And he also explained why he feels much more suited to Palace since making the move.

He told Norwegian outlet VG: “It has been six months that have been completely hopeless. It has been very tough mentally, physically and in every way possible,” he said.

“I didn’t want it to end that way at Wolves, because it’s a fantastic club that I care about.

“I hoped things would change, but for me it was important to take a step forward.

And on Palace, the Norway forward added: “Palace suits me very well. It’s a style of play that suits me well. We have players who can put me in good situations, so I think it’s going to be very good.”
