'Took a while': Simon Jordan cites early Nuno struggles at West Ham amid De Zerbi to Tottenham…

The fact that it took Nuno Espirito Santo a while to turn things around at West Ham United should raise alarm for those hoping that Roberto De Zerbi will instantly fix the problems at Tottenham.

While it’s not an absolute certainty at the time of writing, Spurs are closing in on appointing De Zerbi as their third manager of the season.

How worried should we be about De Zerbi joining Tottenham? 😟

Quite what that means for West Ham United is unclear. Indeed, West Ham and Tottenham are locked in a relegation battle, so the idea of a big-name manager going into Spurs is a concern.

Still, Jordan doesn’t think it’s a guarantee that De Zerbi would walk in and deliver instant results – with the pundit citing Nuno as an example.

Jordan says that Nuno struggles prove De Zerbi would not have it easy

Former Crystal Palace owner Jordan thinks that West Ham will be relegated from the Premier League this season.

He has often talked of his belief that Spurs will get out of it, despite all evidence being to the contrary.

Though Jordan still thinks West Ham are more likely to get relegated than Spurs, he did warn against the idea that the former Brighton boss would be an instant saviour for the north London club if he was appointed.

“Nuno Espirito Santo took a while [to impress as West Ham manager],” said Jordan on talkSPORT.

“This is why the question of De Zerbi coming in with instantaneous gratification is slightly unrealistic.”

This team stays up ahead of Spurs 😎

Only debate is Dinos or Todibo….

West Ham really do have to hope De Zerbi does not work out if he is indeed installed as Tottenham manager.

Nottingham Forest appear to be on the up under Vitor Pereira and the greatest hope West Ham have is that Spurs continue to flounder.

If they do not and Forest keep climbing, then the Irons really only have Leeds in their crosshairs if they are to move ahead of anyone towards the bottom of the table – and the Whites are currently four points ahead of the Hammers.
