Bayern Munich chief responds to claims of Mohamed Salah offer

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl as responded to a claim that the German club have already put in an offer for Mohamed Salah.

With 33-year-old’s Liverpool future once again dominating the agenda, it has almost become a daily ritual for a new club to be thrown into the mix for the Egyptian’s signature. Reports and interviews back home are being pored over for clues, while Europe’s elite are inevitably being mentioned whenever Salah’s next move is discussed.

Over the weekend it was the turn of Egypt national team director Ibrahim Hassan to add more fuel to the fire.

Speaking in his homeland, Hassan claimed he had “heard about offers” from some of the continent’s biggest sides, name‑checking Paris Saint‑Germain, Bayern Munich and clubs from Serie A as potential suitors for the Liverpool forward.

Those comments quickly did the rounds on social media and were soon being picked up in Germany and England.

Now Eberl has responded to a query from WinWin journalist Ismael Mahmoud, in which the Bayern chief has denied the claim of an offer:

“Eberl denied the news received by Ibrahim Hassan, explaining in private statements to Winwin about the fact that the Bavarian giant is interested in signing the player and entering it into the club’s plans for next season: “No, Mohamed Salah did not receive any offer from Bayern Munich.”

For now, then, talk of Salah rocking up at the Allianz Arena looks to be little more than noise, even if his future will continue to be a headline generator in the weeks ahead.

Whether other clubs test Liverpool’s resolve over Salah is another matter entirely and guarantees this won’t be the last time his name dominates the gossip columns.
