De Zerbi is viewed as the more ‘desirable’ candidate they can go for, but is he what they need right now? He’s a self-proclaimed disciple of Marcelo Bielsa, shadowing him previously to learn his ways. And, those ways aren’t exactly what a relegation-threatened side need to be leaning on in this situation.
The Italian’s Brighton side were a joy to watch at times, but that style takes so much fine-tuning to get right. You can’t just pick it up in the remaining seven games.
And, this is before we get into his well-documented issues managing his squad on a personal level. He fell out badly with both Brighton and Marseille’s squad in an incredibly toxic way. Spurs are not in a position where someone that prickly will benefit them.
