Andy Robertson attracting interest from new European giant

Andy Robertson’s Liverpool future is edging towards a crossroads, and the left-back has hardly tried to hide it while away with Scotland. With his Anfield contract due to expire this summer and game time reduced under Arne Slot, the 32-year-old spoke about his situation while away with Scotland this international break.

Speaking on Friday, the Reds vice-captain said: “My thoughts will stay private, they always have.”

“There’s been a lot of discussions had internally. I’ve always got to work out what me and my family want and that’s always been consistent. We know the end of the season is coming and obviously we’ll need to make a decision soon.”

Into that backdrop comes fresh talk from Italy that one of Europe’s giants could look to capitalise.

According to a report from Calcio Mercato, AC Milan are weighing up a move for Robertson as they plan their summer rebuild at left-back.

The Rossoneri are keen to add experience and leadership on the flank and see the Liverpool vice‑captain as an opportunity if he does hit the free‑agent market. Milan’s interest is said to hinge on how their own squad planning develops over the coming weeks, with decisions still to be made over current options and their overall budget.

When Theo Hernandez moved on, Pervis Estupinan was initially trusted with the starting role, only to lose it to emerging youngster Davide Bartesaghi. As a result, the Ecuadorian could be allowed to depart after just a single season.

That scenario would likely trigger the arrival of another left-back, and one of the names being talked about is Andrew Robertson.

For Liverpool, the situation is delicate: they have already invested heavily in Milos Kerkez on the left and are expected to reshape other areas of the squad, but losing a dressing‑room leader of Robertson’s stature for nothing would still be a major emotional blow.
