At 28, Ogbene has been in and around the Ireland squad for a while now, and he makes it clear that Coleman really is just the ultimate professional and leader.

He said (via Irish Mirror): “I always lean on him for stuff, regardless of how old he is, I would love to still have him in this camp.

“He is still very influential for everybody, he always gives an emotional speech which cuts me through the heart, I always go out there and give everything and fight for him.

“I really enjoy playing next to Seamus Coleman, and we are really fortunate to have a player like him. You have to see it, you have to be in here to see it.”

Ogbene then spoke about the idea of Coleman becoming a coach.

“I do [see him as a future coach/manager],” he said. “I would want it for him. He is shy and reserved, but definitely as a coach to be around the boys as a really good motivator.

“You look at him as similar to John O’Shea; he’s a true example, players will look at him and say, ‘He knows what he’s talking about’.

“I would like him to be a coach, but that’s up to him. Every club and every team would definitely benefit from having him around.”

Coleman becoming a coach is something Everton fans backed via out TalkingPoints platform.

Certainly, with Everton looking to kick on and upgrade the right-back position, it seems like a really natural move for him.

But of course, Coleman may yet feel he still has things to offer as a player, and it’s not out of the question he plays for another club, before surely coming back to Everton to take up a coaching role.
