Report: Nottingham Forest summer signing exploring exit and could join Bundesliga club

Nottingham Forest were one of the biggest spenders in the Premier League last summer.

Evangelos Marinakis shelled out in excess of £200m on 13 new recruits, and many have failed to deliver.

One of the most expensive additions, Dilane Bakwa, has really struggled to establish himself in the Nottingham Forest starting line-up.

He’s playing so well at the moment…😍

Bakwa, who joined from RC Strasbourg for around £30m, has started just three games in the Premier League.

That said, the Frenchman could already be coming towards the end of his Nottingham Forest career.

Dilane Bakwa exploring Nottingham Forest exit

According to Jeunes Footeux, Bakwa is already thought to be looking to seal a move away from the City Ground after a tough debut campaign in England.

The 23-year-old’s representatives are assessing the market for a destination better suited to his skillset, with the Bundesliga a potential option.

It’s claimed that last season’s champions, Bayer Leverkusen, are internally discussing the possibility of signing Bakwa.

Leverkusen were interested in the Forest winger last year, so it’s hardly surprising that they’re considering a move again.

Marinakis and his chiefs will be hoping to sanction Bakwa’s sale for a similar fee to what they paid for him, so negotiations with Leverkusen could prove to be challenging.

Their record signing is Malik Tillman and Jarell Quansah, and they cost £30m, so they aren’t historically big spenders.

Forest won’t be in a great position to hold out for a substantial fee if they suffer relegation, so the price tag will largely depend on what division they’re in next term.
