Nolan was speaking after reports emerged that Spurs are refusing to take no for an answer, with the Italian identified as their top choice to replace Igor Tudor.
De Zerbi had initially rejected the chance to move to North London, with [Fabrizio Romano](https://www.claretandhugh.info/fabrizio-romano-announces-west-ham-blow-as-spurs-eye-top-coach-for-relegation-scrap/) claiming the former Brighton boss wanted to wait until the summer before making any decision. However, with Spurs sitting just one point above West Ham in the Premier League survival race, the Lewis family are reportedly ready to throw everything at securing his signature.
Nolan Questions Spurs Strategy

Tottenham are said to have become “creative” in their approach, offering what has been described as “mega money” along with a get-out clause in an attempt to tempt De Zerbi into taking the job immediately.
That strategy has not impressed Nolan.
“By throwing money at him, why should that change his mind? If he thought he had an opportunity to keep them up, it would have been done. Desperate.”
Nolan has gone in two footed on this potential appointment which perhaps reflects just how chaotic things have become at Spurs as the relegation battle intensifies. Let’s just hope they get this one wrong.
