Report: Agent drops hint on 11-goal star's next move as Leeds join Liverpool in transfer battle

Leeds United are in the mix for Feyenoord’s Algerian winger Anis Hadj Moussa, but they face serious competition from across the Premier League.

Leeds have been linked with a move for the Feyenoord star, but they are far from alone. AfricaFoot say Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Sunderland are all tracking the 24-year-old, setting up a crowded race for his signature.

That competition is unlikely to ease, especially with the player’s camp making his stance clear on a potential move ahead of the summer transfer window.

Crowded Premier League race for Anis Hadj Moussa

Leeds’ interest places them among a wide group of English clubs monitoring Hadj Moussa, but the level of competition is significant. Liverpool are among those credited with interest.

The Reds have already made contact with the player’s representatives, underlining the scale of the challenge. Manchester United and Chelsea are also named in the same report.

Sunderland are included as another club keeping tabs on the situation. That breadth of interest reflects both the player’s output this season and his profile as a developing attacking option.

Leeds, then, are one of several clubs in the picture rather than a clear frontrunner. With multiple Premier League sides circling, any move will depend on how the market develops and which clubs choose to act.

Hadj Moussa’s agent rules out Saudi move

One factor working in favour of English clubs is the player’s clear preference regarding his next step. Speaking on the situation, his agent Mohamed Dahmane ruled out a move to Saudi Arabia and pointed directly towards the Premier League.

“Al Hilal? That is not part of the plan. The priority is Europe, and more precisely the Premier League, which remains the most competitive and attractive championship for Anis.”

That statement removes a major alternative from the equation. Interest from Saudi Arabia had been reported, but the player’s camp have now made it clear that a move to England is the focus.

For Leeds, that keeps them firmly in the conversation. But it also strengthens the position of every other Premier League club linked, particularly those operating at the top end of the table.

Why Premier League clubs want to sign Anis Hadj Moussa

Hadj Moussa’s appeal is rooted in his production this season. Operating primarily as a right winger, he has registered 11 goals and 6 assists across all competitions for Feyenoord.

In league play, he has contributed 8 goals and 5 assists, showing consistent output over the course of the campaign. Those numbers point to a player capable of impacting games, but still one who is developing rather than delivering elite-level returns.

He also brings international experience, with 13 caps for Algeria, adding another layer to his profile. Crucially, Feyenoord hold a strong position in any negotiations.

The winger is under contract until June 2030, meaning there is no immediate pressure to sell. That long-term deal gives the Dutch club leverage and ensures any interested side will need to meet their valuation.

With a reported market value of around €20 million, the fee could rise given the level of interest and the security of his contract.

Leeds face clear competition

Leeds’ interest in Hadj Moussa fits a familiar recruitment pattern, targeting a winger with strong output and room to grow. His numbers are solid, his role is clear, and his trajectory is upward.

Better than Gnonto?

But the reality is straightforward. Leeds are competing in a market that includes Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea, all of whom can offer different levels of pull.

With the player’s preference set on the Premier League and Feyenoord under no pressure to sell, the situation remains open. Leeds are in the race, but they will need more than interest alone to come out on top.

Leeds have, of course, tried to sign wingers from Feyenoord in the past. Luis Sinisterra did join, but has proven to be a flop in England, currently on loan at Cruzeiro. Igor Paixao picked Marseille over Leeds.
