Leeds United defender Max Wober has reportedly withdrawn from the Austria squad amid ongoing injury problems.
The 28-year-old was loaned to Werder Bremen in the summer after playing a bit-part role in Leeds’ Championship title-winning campaign.
He has not managed a single Bundesliga appearance, instead seeing his action limited to just one DFB-Pokal outing by a muscle injury.
That appearance came in August, when he completed 79 minutes in a 1-0 loss to Arminia Bielefeld.

Max Wober exits Austria squad
Ahead of the current international break, Wober was called up to the Austria squad in spite of his injury woes.
It was decided his presence in the camp was desired regardless, although the Salzburger Nachrichten have now reported he has returned to Werder Bremen.
Austria are due to face South Korea in a friendly tonight (March 31) and Wober was not due to play a part.
Max Wober’s time at Leeds United
He could not keep the Whites afloat in the Premier League and left on loan for Borussia Mönchengladbach post-relegation.
After a season away from West Yorkshire, the centre-back returned in the summer of 2024 alongside Brenden Aaronson. The latter managed to play his way back into the fold, but Wober remained on the periphery before exiting temporarily again.

“I didn't really notice it during the game. The next morning, however, came with a major shock - I woke up with a huge lump in my thigh. Shortly afterward, I was diagnosed with a torn muscle and a torn muscle bundle.
“Since then, I've been fighting to get back as quickly as possible. Now it's all about the muscle growing back, then I can fully tackle rehab.”
