West Ham Fan Favourite Rules Himself Out of Top Job

Former Reims and Southampton manager Will Still has claimed his love for West Ham is so great it would stop him managing the club.

Still was heavily linked with a move to the Hammers after the departure of Julen Lopetegui and is known to be a massive West Ham fan. The 33-year-old was pictured at the London Stadium during the reign of Lopetegui and has made no secret of the fact that he would love to manage the club he supports one day.

Emotional ties could block dream role

However, Still appears to have ruled out the prospect recently, saying: “I don’t think I could do it [coach West Ham] because I’m too emotionally attached to the club. I want them to win, and I want them to win as much as they can. I’ll focus on my career anywhere else.”

Still did not enjoy the best of times at Southampton and left on 2 November, having failed to make an impact during his first season. That said, at such a young age, the Belgian-born Englishman still has plenty of time on his side and remains a highly talented coach.
