There is now a growing feeling that Dan Ndoye’s time at Nottingham Forest is up. A return to Italy in the summer is quickly gaining traction.
On Monday, TuttoSport spoke of Inter Milan’s interest in the Swiss winger. Sport Witness covered those claims, with Cristian Chivu viewing Ndoye’s signing as a much-needed injection of pace into his squad.
This came right after the winger was asked about his future after Switzerland’s friendly against Germany. He indicated frustration with his game time at Nottingham Forest.
Ndoye said: “ I don’t get many minutes at club level, but today I showed I have some quality. I feel great with Switzerland, and I want to enjoy these moments.
“It was important for me to get playing time and also to score. Why don’t I play for Nottingham Forest? I ask myself that too.”
These comments seem to have really alerted many in Italy, with Ndoye’s future increasingly in question.
Napoli also keen on player
Calciomercato IT state the 25-year-old is one of the ‘hottest names’ for Serie A clubs ahead of the summer transfer window. They note how he is struggling at Nottingham Forest, having gone from playing in Europe to battling relegation.
The outlet cover not just Inter interest but also make it clear that Napoli remain keen. Both Italian clubs are ready to make an attempt for him, amidst belief that a return to Italy can reinvigorate Dan Ndoye’s career.
PassioneInter add more to the situation, revealing that the Nerazzurri are already working to sign the attacker.
Nottingham Forest are believed to want €35m for a permanent sale. This can prove to be quite high for the Serie A leaders, who will look at the possibility of executing an initial loan deal. This has been described as an ‘Akanji-style’ move, as Inter can add a conditional obligation to buy in the deal.
That would mean a loan with a near-obligation to buy for €35m.
Dan Ndoye should actively seek an exit
By now, it is clear that Dan Ndoye hasn’t found his home at Nottingham Forest. Over the past few years, he is used to fighting at the other end of the table – even at Basel.
Should Ndoye wait for things to change at Nottingham Forest, his reputation can also take a hit. That is why the summer should be the right time for him to find a new club and get himself back to where he believes he belongs.
