For stages of the season there was a genuine fear that Wolves might break a long standing Premier League record - for all the wrong reasons.
Having endured an awful start to the season under Vitor Pereira - the club axed the Portuguese boss and brought in former defender Rob Edwards.
Edwards’ opening games in charge went the same way - with Wolves languishing at the foot of the table.
There was for a time a fear that Wolves would fail to get past Derby County’s record low eleven point total from the 2007/2008 campaign.
However, after an upturn in performances over the festive period, the results began to follow.
They went past the total - and in the process of their recent run of form, then have also surpassed other low totals.

They have ticked off Southampton’s dreadful 12 point haul from last season - and Sunderland’s 15 points from the 2005/2006 season.
Back in the 2023/24 campaign, Sheffield United only managed to rack up 16 points, as did Huddersfield Town in their solitary Premier League campaign in 2018/19.
Now they sit on the same number of points as Aston Villa managed to get in 2017/18 when they were relegated from the top flight.
With seven games to go, Wolves have 21 points to play for. So how many other teams with low totals over the years, could they hunt down?
19 points - Sunderland 02/03
The previous year under Peter Reid, the Black Cats survived by four points but a disastrous season saw them go down with less than 20 points.
Reid, followed by Howard Wilkinson and then Mick McCarthy failed to keep them up. The former Wolves boss guided them to the play-offs the following season, but they were beaten.
21 points - Norwich 19/20
Having romped to the the previous season - they went straight back down under Daniel Farke with their worst total in Premier League history.
22 points - Norwich 21/22
Very much a Premier League yo-yo club, Norwich went down with some low totals. The second lowest was in 2022, with Farke sacked and replaced by Dean Smith, who couldn’t pull off an escape.

23 points - Sheffield United 20/21
Another low one came at Brammall Lane - where that has been a few. Chris Wilder and then Paul Heckingbottom couldn’t prevent the Blades beating the drop.
24 points - Watford 99/00, Sunderland 16/17
Most of the low totals have come in recent years - but one from the turn of the millennium was at Vicarage Road. Under Graham Taylor they finished rock bottom, 12 points from safety.
Elsewhere, Sunderland also picked up just 24 points under David Moyes. It was their tenth straight Premier League campaign, but it was their last until they returned this season.
25 points - Wolves 11/12, QPR 12/13, Southampton 22/23
Wolves have another nine points to pick up if they want to beat their own low total, which came back in the 2011/2012 season.
McCarthy was sacked after a 5-1 defeat to rivals West Brom - and Terry Connor failed to address the slide and they went down.

26 points - Bradford 00/01
Having seen off relegation the season before in a dramatic finish - the next season was a step too far for the Bantams who have never returned to the top level.
28 points - Leicester 01/02, Watford 06/07
30 points - Cardiff 13/14, QPR 14/15
