Leeds United's chances of holding on to their prized assets this summer will depend on which division they find themselves in after the conclusion of the season. The Whites are currently 15th in the Premier League with seven games to go, but sit just four points off the drop and know there is still work to be done.
There is a real hope Leeds will survive their relegation fight and if they do, the expectation is Daniel Farke will be given an opportunity to strengthen his squad. Budgets are scrutinised more so than ever before and Leeds will have to be careful in their dealings and spending, but a big sale can open doors.
That may be the case, but the messages from within the camp suggest Leeds are not looking to cash in on any of their players. Still, the reality of the situation is should a significant offer arrive then the club will always listen, as any other rival would do.
That could be the case regarding Pascal Struijk this summer. Aston Villa and relegation-threatened Tottenham Hotspur have both been credited with previous interest, now Newcastle United are being linked with a potential move as the club look to strengthen their defensive options.
According to Sports Boom, Struijk is one of Newcastle's "plans" to replace the often injured Sven Botman, with Leeds' still relatively young defender highly thought of. The report says Leeds are braced for interest in Struijk this summer, and could "reluctantly accept an astronomical offer," with talk of a starting price of £30m.
