Fedri Kadioglu reportedly on Man United wishlist before Turkey final

This season, Ferdi has made 30 appearances in the Premier League, with just three of those coming from the bench.

But last season, he struggled due to injury.

The defender suffered a ligament rupture in his big toe in late 2024 during Brighton's 3-2 home defeat to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup.

He played through the injury in the following Premier League match against Liverpool, then underwent surgery and missed the remainder of the 2024/25 season.

He returned to full training in the summer, becoming a staple of Fabian Hurzeler’s squads thereafter.

His work rate, dribbling and tenacity to win the ball back have been praised by the Albion coach and fans alike.

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler has also highlighted his versatility on many occasions. When Ferdi had returned from injury, Fabian had said: “(Ferdi) is very good at decision-making, he's very good at understanding the game.

“I think he can play several positions - he started as a right winger, he finished as a left winger, he already played as a left full-back and a right full-back.

“These four positions are no problem for him to play in. So it's great to have a player who has that flexibility.

Now, multiple sources have reported Man United’s interest in the defender. With Luke Shaw in the final 18 months of his contract, a succession plan is apparently being explored.

According to Turkish sports news company Fanatik, "United management will contact Brighton (club) regarding Ferdi Kadioglu at the end of the season...

"Manchester United's Sporting Director Dan Ashworth, has been closely following the Turkish footballer for some time."

The report also claims that ‘Brighton’s expectation is 50 million euros’. None of this has been confirmed.

During this international break, Ferdi has already impressed. He scored the only goal in Turkey's 1-0 win against World Cup Qualifier semi-final against Romania.

Turkey are now one step closer to featuring in the World Cup for the first time in 24 years.

They face Kosovo in the WCQ Final tonight at 7.45pm (Tuesday, March 31).
