Liverpool’s award-winning Stanley Park Market, recently voted among the UK’s best, is officially returning tomorrow. The market was initially set to return on Wednesday, March 25 but was cancelled for health and safety reasons due to forecasted high winds.

The city’s largest weekday market will return on Wednesday, April 1, kicking off the new season with a special Easter celebration. The market will then run weekly through to December.

From April 1, up to 100 stalls will fill Anfield Park every Wednesday between 9am and 3pm, offering a wide range of goods including fresh local produce, clothing, homeware, toys, pet supplies, and more. Visitors can also enjoy hot food and drinks, or take time to relax and socialise in a spacious seating area.

Throughout the year, the market will welcome community groups and local organisations focused on promoting health and wellbeing. The Easter Extravaganza on April 1 will feature family-friendly activities such as an Easter egg hunt, arts and crafts, children’s characters, and appearances from small farm animals.

Health visitors and school nurses will be on hand to provide advice on children’s health, while Everton and Anfield children’s centres will host arts and crafts sessions. Liverpool libraries will also run a story corner for younger visitors.

Stanley Park Market was named Best Community Market in Britain in 2025 and was recently highly commended at the 2026 British Market Awards.

Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Culture, Councillor Harry Doyle, said: "Stanley Park Market has become a beloved staple of our markets offer, so we’re excited to see it return for its third season.

"The market has a real community feel – people can meet up with neighbours, family and friends, do a spot of shopping, and enjoy a bite to eat while supporting local businesses.

"Alongside Stanley Park, we have many other markets across the city throughout the year, from weekly markets in Greatie and Garston to farmers’ and artisan markets, as well as specialist one-off pop-ups.

"All of our markets offer a genuine local shopping experience and are a fantastic way to connect neighbourhoods while supporting local businesses and community groups."

The market will not operate on days when evening football matches or concerts take place at Goodison Park or Anfield Stadium, as the space will be used for those events.

The weekly market reopened in March 2025 following a successful trial in 2024. It first launched in July 2024 as a seven-week pilot before being extended until October due to its popularity. A festive version then ran from November to December 2024.

On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, actor Ricky Tomlinson officially reopened the market by cutting the ribbon.

The market takes place at Stanley Road Car Park, Priory Road, Anfield, L4 0TQ.
