**Ibrahima Konate has dropped a hint that he will stay at Liverpool next season with comments to ESPN over the international break.**
The Reds are gearing up to face Manchester City in the FA Cup on Saturday, but many fans are already looking at the summer and what it will bring in the transfer window.
Mohamed Salah has announced he will leave the club at the end of the season, and it has appeared for some time that Konate will also take his leave when his contract expires on 30 June 2026.2
Yet, fresh quotes hint that his exit is not as iron-clad as Salah’s.
Speaking to ESPN while on international duty with France, Konate spoke about Liverpool and their likely return to form next season.
_“We bring new players, we will adapt, we will try to understand each other and at a point, with time, we will win a trophy,”_ Konate said.
_“We will have success and when we win the Premier League or Champions League, people will forget every bad season we had because now we won the league last season._
_“This is just part of the success and we have to be relaxed because we have amazing fans, we have to stay together, and the success will come for sure.”_

It may just be clutching at straws, but Konate saying ‘we’ will win trophies again appears to have the subtext that he is part of that collective and will remain so.
While it’s just pure speculation at this point, it also stands to reason that bringing another Frenchman to Anfield could convince the Parisian to stay.
Konate will surely stay if Liverpool sign Michael Olise
-------------------------------------------------------
Liverpool are heavily linked with signing Bayern Munich star Michael Olise.
Much like Konate, there is only speculation at this point, but if Liverpool did sign the 24-year-old, it would present an enticing reason for Konate to stay at Liverpool amid his expiring contract.
Unlike Konate, Olise was born in England but declared for France in 2024 after previously representing France and Nigeria youth level.
When asked why he chose to represent France rather than England, Nigeria or Algeria, Olise said: _“I have always had a connection with the France national team, that is why I play for France._
_“It’s been my dream since I was a kid” to play in the French team.”_
