Cherries pair head to Portugal to train with Primeira Liga side Moreirense

Day and William both headed out to north Portugal to train with the club, which is a part of Black Knight Football Club, with Cherries chairman Bill Foley’s company holding a majority interest in the Primeira Liga side.

Day returned from the continent to Bournemouth and scored the winner as Bournemouth twice came from behind to beat Crewe Alexandra in the Professional Development League, with William featuring at Dean Court too.

Asked about his Moreirense experience after the game, Day told the Daily Echo: “There was an opportunity for me and Harold to train with them, so just getting that first team experience.

“Obviously a club that's part of the Black Knight group, so that's just another option in my career or anyone else's career that's at Bournemouth.

“So yeah, it's just getting open to more eyes, more people seeing your career, and then obviously, that's only a good thing.”

On what he learned while with the Portuguese side, Day said: “It's a lot of communication, just knowing what people want of you because obviously you don't speak the language.

“And yeah, that was a bit tough, but obviously training with the first team, having their experience, they're a very good top team in Europe.

“So yeah, I'm just going to learn from them and learn from the experience to try and bring back to England and help my teammates.”
