That’s the verdict of Clarets boss Scott Parker, whose side now find themselves 10 points adrift with only seven games of the season remaining.
The outlook looks bleak, with a third straight relegation from the Premier League looking inevitable, but – with 21 points still to play for – Parker expects his players to fight until the very end.
“Clearly it's a tough, tough challenge for us. Tough, tough challenge,” he said. “But there's still games to play.
“I just said it now [to the players], we don't have a choice in what we do. You don't have a choice and sometimes in life when you don't have choices, they're the best solutions.
“So what are we going to be? What do we want to be? What do I expect from us at this present moment in time? I expect constantly what I've seen from the team.

“At times this year we've fallen a little bit short, clearly. For many reasons we've fallen a little bit short.
“There's one thing that we've not fallen short on, it's something that I'm constantly saying to you guys and that will never, ever not be the case. Everything I ask of these boys when they step over a line again today, that full commitment, which has been a tough, tough year for us. A tough year and there's been some blows on the nose and at times there's been some huge challenges. But we'll continue to keep learning, to keep improving, keep developing. But there'll be a mainstay, which is there's still football to be played here. We'll be hugely committed to every time they put on a shirt, their full commitment into what they do.”
