Wolves

Internacional de Bogotá’s Dereck Moncada has ended up on Wolves transfer radar for the summer.

The 18-year-old graduated from CD Olimpia’s youth system and left the Honduran club as a free agent at the end of last year.

He moved to Internacional de Bogotá for free in January and is now attracting Wolves’ interest.

The winger has enjoyed a good start to his life with the Colombian club, scoring five goals and contributing one assist from 12 matches.

His stats for Internacional de Bogotá are as follows:

Appearances: 12

Starts: 12

Expected Goals: 0.82

Expected Assists: 0.40

Big chances created: 2

Key passes per game: 0.9

Shots on target per game: 0.7

Successful dribbles per game: 0.8

The youngster made his debut for Honduras’ senior team in November, two months before his move to his current club. He has maintained his place in the national team squad after José Francisco Molina took charge in February.

Wolves send official to Spain

Dereck Moncada is one of the most promising youngsters in Honduran football and has caught the attention of European clubs.

That’s according to Diez.hn, who only name Wolves in their report.

Honduras settled for a 2-2 draw against Peru in a friendly clash on Tuesday. This fixture took place at the Estadio Ontime Butarque, CD Leganés’ home stadium.

This provided the Premier League side an opportunity to take a closer look at the player in Spain.

Therefore, Wolves head of scouting Ben Wrigglesworth made a trip to Spain to watch the youngster live in action for the national team.

The Honduras international’s grandfather, Mario Moncada, posted a picture with the Wolves official online, which has been shared by Diez and other outlets. Futbol Digital took to Instagram to share the picture of Mario alongside Wrigglesworth.

His grandfather took the scout around the stadium and also accompanied him during the match. The Internacional de Bogotá youngster started the match and was replaced by Manisa’s Alenis Vargas in the 60th minute.

Moncada’s value and agent info

Dereck Moncada is the half-brother of Liverpool youngster Keyrol Figueroa. However, the former may not meet him in England, if he were to join Wolves.

Figueroa’s contract expires in June and earlier this year, Sport Witness relayed news he has attracted interest from multiple clubs.

There’s no mention of Moncada’s contract details, and Transfermarkt value him at €1.5m.

Agency Top Radical Sports, who mainly have Honduran players in their client list, are managing the Wolves target.
