Newcastle United could have an impressive 14 players at the World Cup as the 48 countries competing this summer have been finalised.

ENGLAND: Thomas Tuchel called six Newcastle players into the squad for the friendlies with Uruguay and Japan, with at least four expected to be on the plane. Anthony Gordon,Dan Burn,Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento stand a strong chance of making the squad, while Aaron Ramsdale and Harvey Barnes are outside bets. Nick Pope could yet come in, but it would be a surprise at this stage, while Jacob Ramsey, Jacob Murphy and Joe Willock have not featured in any squads. Kieran Trippier retired from international football in 2024.

BRAZIL: United captain Bruno Guimaraes missed the recent get-together as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury, but will be a big part of Carlo Ancelotti's squad for the tournemouth. Fellow midfielder Joelintonhas featured under Ancelotti, but as he was not included last month, it now looks doubtful whether he will get the call.

GERMANY: Boss Julien Nagelsmann looks set to include both Nick Woltemade and Malick Thiaw in his squad. Woltemade has struggled for goals and gametime at Newcastle after his £69m move from Stuttgart, but played 79 minutes of the 2-1 win over Ghana and should keep his place in the squad. Thiaw has played his way back into contention but didn't feature in either friendly last month.

SWEDEN: It was a special night for Anthony Elanga, who scored Sweden's first goal in their 3-2 play-off win over Poland on Tuesday night. The winger is a regular starter under Graham Potter and will be in their squad. United defender Emil Krafth is sidelined with a knee injury and is not expected to be fit.

DR CONGO: A 1-0 play-off win over Jamaica means Yoane Wissa and the Democratic Republic of Congo will be heading to the World Cup. Wissa has not featured as much as he would have liked for Newcastle, but he remains a regular starter for his country and will be in their party for the World Cup.

NETHERLANDS: It's looking unlikely that Newcastle defender Sven Botman will break into the Dutch squad, but he still has an outside chance. Injuries have dogged the centre-back, while Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman has the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Micky van de Ven, Nathan Ake, Stefan de Vrij and Jan Paul van Hecke to select from.
