Leeds United will meet Manchester United at Croke Park

Leeds United and Manchester United will become the first Premier League clubs to play at Croke Park after the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) agreed to open their doors to host the clubs.

As first reported by the Irish Independent, Leeds will meet Man Utd once again in pre-season after the pair met in Stockholm last summer. This time the rivals will clash in Dublin, with the first football match at the GAA headquarters since Ireland took on France in November 2009.

The GAA - who run Gaelic sports such hurling, camogie and Gaelic football - are protective of what events are staged at the 82,000 capacity venue, but have recently hosted an NFL game at the venue and now will open their doors to host this game on Wednesday August 12, as Leeds return to Ireland once again.

Daniel Farke's side played AC Milan at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin last year, with a large travelling contingent making the journey to watch the Whites play out a 1-1 draw. An even bigger travelling party will be expected this summer with the size of the fanbase of both clubs in Ireland suggesting a capacity crowd are likely to be in attendance for the friendly match at one of Europe's great stadiums.

The match comes after Leeds' summer tour of the United States, which takes place in late July and early August. Leeds will face Wrexham in Tampa on July 25, Sunderland in New Jersey on July 30 and finish by playing Liverpool in Chicago on August 2.

Tickets for the USA tour are available now, with Leeds expected to officially confirm the Dublin match in due course.
