El Hadji Malick Diouf (Senegal)

El Hadji Malick Diouf’s Senegal qualified for the World Cup in October after going unbeaten in their six-team African qualifying group.

With Sadio Mane, Nicolas Jackson and Iliman Ndiaye in attack, they are a dark horse to reach the latter stages this summer.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (DR Congo)

Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s Democratic Republic of the Congo team beat Jamaica in a play-off to qualify for the World Cup.

DR Congo won 1-0 after extra time on Tuesday, with former Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe scoring the winning goal.

Tomas Soucek (Czech Republic)

Tomas Soucek helped the Czech Republic reach the World Cup for the first time since 2006 with a play-off victory over Denmark.

The game finished 2-2 after extra time, with Soucek scoring one of Czechia’s three penalties against West Ham goalkeeper Mads Hermansen in the shootout.

Mateus Fernandes (Portugal)

Mateus Fernandes did not play in any of Portugal’s World Cup qualifiers, but he is expected to go to the World Cup.

Fernandes received his first call-up and made his Portugal debut against the USA in the March international break.

Crysencio Summerville (Netherlands)

Crysencio Summerville was going to be called up to the Netherlands’ squad before suffering a calf injury at West Ham.

As long as the 24-year-old continues to play well upon his return, he should make his senior international debut this summer.

Jarrod Bowen (England)

Jarrod Bowen played several times for England during their unbeaten World Cup qualification campaign.

He is probably battling with Arsenal’s Noni Madueke for a plane ticket to the United States.
