Every Liverpool player qualified for 2026 World Cup: 13 to miss pre-season start

The 2026 World Cup lineup is now set, with Liverpool expected to see at least 13 players take part in the tournament – and miss the start of their pre-season.

Tuesday night brought the conclusion of the World Cup qualifying campaign as the playoff finals determined the last countries to head to the United States, Canada and Mexico.

With the tournament running from June 11 to July 19 and with players requiring an extended break afterwards, Liverpool can anticipate the majority of those involved missing the start of pre-season.

Here is every Liverpool player qualified for the 2026 World Cup and their group stage fixtures.

Liverpool could in theory see a number of their players called up to Thomas Tuchel’s England squad, with the likes of Joe Gomez, Curtis Jones and even Rio Ngumoha eligible.

But Tuchel’s selections throughout the season so far indicate that there are currently no plans to include any of those at the World Cup.

When will Liverpool’s pre-season begin?

Liverpool are expected to begin pre-season training at the AXA Training Centre at the start of July 2026, which will coincide with the World Cup and any post-tournament breaks for those knocked out of the group stage.

The Reds then head to the United States themselves for three friendlies against Sunderland (Nashville, July 25), Wrexham (New York, July 29) and Leeds (Chicago, August 2).
