Leeds Untied have eight games left in the league to decide their fate ahead of next season. The Whites have played well enough to stand a chance at survival in the coming months.

Daniel Farke’s sudden change before the end of last year saw the club pick up some important points and move up the table. Leeds were expected to be one of the bottom sides fighting relegation, but they have exceeded expectations – they still could go down at the end of the season.

The club return to action this weekend, but in the FA Cup. Farke’s men will face West Ham with a place in the semi-finals on the line.

Announcement made ahead of Leeds United FA Cup clash

The last clash between the two sides saw the Whites get a 2-1 win over Nuno Espirito Santo’s men at Elland Road. This time around, they will be on the road as they visit the London stadium. Ahead of the game, the FA have announced that Craig Pawson will be the referee in charge of the game. Pawson has taken charge of one game involving Leeds this season; a defeat to Fulham in London. He was also in charge when West Ham beat Nottingham Forest 3-0 away from home. He has dished out three red cards already, which will be something both teams will be wary of.

Referees have not been the most liked people among Leeds United fans over the past few weeks. The Whites have been on the end of some ludicrous decisions in the past month. The Premier League Key Match Incidents Panel has reviewed and stated that two VAR mistakes have been made against the club in the last few weeks. This is outside Daniel Farke being sent off in the Manchester City game for asking questions of the referee.

Whites can book semi-final place

The club’s Premier League campaign is far from over, even though they are just four points above the relegation zone. Leeds United will find it tough to get to safety considering they are up against West Ham, Nottingham Forest and Tottenham. The battle for survival could very well go down to the wire on the last day of the season. But Farke and the players have a unique chance to put a smile on the face of the fanbase, by reaching the FA Cup semi-finals, and if luck goes their way, the final at Wembley.
