Tottenham, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest nudge club into action

Thomas Kristensen

Thomas Kristensen joined Udinese in 2023 and has witnessed significant growth since then. Tottenham, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest have been interested in him, leading to the Italian side taking evasive action.

This season, the towering defender has played 23 times in all competitions, also scoring two goals. He is expected to play more than he did last season, when he featured 24 times in all competitions.

SportWitness have previously covered Wolves’ interest in the Dane. The Midlands club attempted to land the defender in January 2025 but their approach was rejected. This also became a topic of discussion in Denmark.

Thomas Kristensen continues to attract the attention of clubs across Europe, with Udinese appearing alert to avoid a switch to Tottenham, Aston Villa or Nottingham Forest.

Udinese attempting Thomas Kristensen renewal

Messaggero Veneto – relayed by Tuttomercatoweb, report today that Udinese are aware of how Thomas Kristensen has grown in the last few seasons.

Tottenham, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest were keen on him last summer. Now, Juventus and AC Milan are also keeping a close eye on his situation, having made exploratory enquiries for a possible signature.

All this has prompted Udinese to push for a renewal and they are very keen on tying the 24-year-old down. Kristensen’s current deal runs out in 2028, which is attracting the situation of potential suitors.

The Italian side’s aim is to offer the centre-back a significant wage upgrade, increasing the base of his salary by around €400k.

It is hoped that this keeps away other clubs, with a renewal likely to be done in April.

Renewal unlikely to help Udinese

Kosta Runjaic’s side are quite accustomed to making major sales every few months. Last summer, it was Lorenzo Lucca who joined Napoli and Arthur Atta has also been linked with a move to England.

That is why even if Udinese try, they are always tempted by major sales. Rodrigo De Paul is also one classic example, as he was sold to Atletico Madrid after an impressive spell in Italy. In a way, the Friulians operate out of capital gains.

Tottenham, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest shouldn’t be too discouraged. If anything, it is Udinese’s way of increasing their valuation for Thomas Kristensen.
