Everton confident Jarrad Branthwaite will stay

According to TEAMtalk, Everton sources have ‘dismissed’ the rumours that Man United are close to signing Branthwaite.

It’s understood that the Friedkin Group view the young defender as a crucial part of their long-term project, as they strive to deliver European football.

The American investors rewarded Branthwaite with a new bumper contract last summer, tying him down to 2030.

It’s also reported that the England international has no desire to leave Merseyside, which has been his home for over six years.

Branthwaite recently said he wants to win trophies with the Toffees and is confident of winning silverware under Moyes’ stewardship.

“As a player, you think about winning trophies and to be part of a side that ends Everton’s wait for one would be absolutely massive.

“This isn’t a team or a club that will be fighting against relegation any more, we want success.

“I feel like the way the club is going, the way the manager is trying to build a team, build an identity, we can definitely achieve that in the next couple of years.”
