Leeds United are keen on bringing in a new centre-forward this summer, and they have identified a "sensational" star as a major target.
Leeds eyeing new striker despite Calvert-Lewin impressing
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is playing a major role in Leeds' bid to avoid relegation, having already scored ten Premier League goals, although he was unable to make an impact for England upon his return to the squad during the current international break.
The 29-year-old missed a big chance after being introduced in the second half of the Three Lions' 1-1 draw against Uruguay, before leaving the camp early, although reporter Graham Smyth has made it clear that was always the plan.
The striker returning unscathed injury-wise is good news for Daniel Farke, heading into the business end of the season, with his side just three points above the relegation zone, as we enter the final seven games of the Premier League campaign.
Although Calvert-Lewin has been reliable in front of goal for Farke, the 49ers are now looking to bring in a new striker in the summer.
"Sensational" striker now Leeds' top target
According to a report from Football Insider, Leeds have now identified AZ Alkmaar Troy Parrott as a top target for the summer transfer window.
Leeds are eager to bring in competition for Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha and the Irishman is "ready" to join a Premier League club.
Former scout Mick Brown adds: "Leeds, for example, are in desperate need of a striker and have been keeping tabs on him. They want somebody to compete with Calvert-Lewin or to play alongside him.

"If there’s any indication that Parrott could be available this summer, I’d expect them to be all over it, because it looks like he’s ready for a move to the Premier League."
The Irishman, who has been lauded as "sensational" by Ray Houghton, has been showing signs he's ready for another chance in England, having performed remarkably well in the Netherlands and Europe, amassing a whopping 38 goal involvements, having found the net on 28 occasions.
Troy Parrott's attacking record Appearances Goal involvements
Eredivisie 23 18
Conference League 9 4
Conference League qualifiers 5 8
KNVB Beker 4 8
The 24-year-old was also the hero for Ireland in their World Cup qualifying group, scoring a hat-trick against Hungary to send his country to the play-offs, and the third goal came in dramatic fashion.
Although Calvert-Lewin has impressed this season, the Englishman has scored just one goal in his last nine Premier League games, so it would be wise to bring in a new striker this summer, and Parrott could be the perfect option.
