£11m attacker is done at Elland Road – But Leeds United can’t get rid of him: View

It looks as though Fiorentina are convinced on Jack Harrison. Unfortunately for Leeds United, they are convinced not to sign him permanently.

Away from Leeds, only a couple of players can safely say they’re having a good loan spell after leaving the club temporarily.

Joe Gelhardt and Largie Ramazani are having fine runs of form. However, for Jack Harrison, his stint at Fiorentina is not going to plan.

Fiorentina make their mind up on £6million permanent Jack Harrison transfer

With one assist to his name so far, Harrison has been muscled out of La Viola’s starting lineup of late by left-back Fabiano Parisi.

As a result, reports from Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport claim that Fiorentina’s hierarchy have made their muind up on the Leeds winger.

Despite a £6million buy option, both their sporting director and technical director have virtually decided not to take up the option this summer.

Harrison needs to discover a rich vein of form to steer Fiorentina even further clear of the bottom three. Otherwise, he’ll be heading back to West Yorkshire in July.

Leeds United saddled with frustrating Jack Harrison wage problem as no one wants him

It’s hardly a shock that Fiorentina have come to this decision.

He’s clearly carrying huge wage demands after that long-term contract signed three years ago. A contract which still has two more years to run. Thanks, Mr Orta.

However, it says a lot that a top flight club isn’t wanting to part with as little as £6million to sign a winger with 181 Premier League appearances to his name at 29.

Signed for £11million in the summer of 2021, Harrison is value as an asset on Leeds’ books minimal. So, any sale would likely be beneficial for all parties.

The only way I could see Harrison leaving Elland Road permanently is to a league where wages aren’t that much of a barrier.

For example, a return to the MLS would make sense. Also, Brendan Rodgers being the manager of Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah could be something to consider. Rodgers was very close to signing Harrison as Leicester City boss in January 2023.
