Rayan makes Brazil debut and qualifying success for Milosavljevic - Internationals

The 19-year-old came on for Manchester United’s Matheus Cunha with 14 minutes left to play, with Brazil leading 1-0.

Croatia equalised through Lovro Majer, but an 88th minute Igor Thiago penalty and a Gabriel Martinelli goal in stoppage time secured the victory for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

There was European Championships joy for Veljko Milosavljevic as he helped Serbia to the finals, at the expense of England.

England’s 6-0 win over Portugal wasn’t enough to overcome Milosavljevic’s Serbia, as they beat Poland 1-0 to top their group in the elite round of qualification.

Milosavljevic played the full 90 minutes in Portugal as Mihajlo Cvetkovic’s 77th minute goal was enough to win the game and book their spot at the finals in Wales.

After Wales’ heartbreaking defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the World Cup playoffs, they faced fellow beaten semi-finalists Northern Ireland in a friendly, and David Brooks played the full 90 minutes.

Ryan Christie continued his World Cup preparations with his Scotland teammates as he started in midfield in their 1-0 defeat to Cote d’Ivoire at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The Scot was replaced after 70 minutes by John McGinn, as Nicolas Pepe’s 12th minute goal was the difference between the two sides.

Alex Toth started for Hungary in their 0-0 draw against Greece and played the first half before he was replaced, while Christos Mandas was an unused substitute for the Greeks.

Fellow goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic came on at the break in Serbia’s 2-1 win over Saudi Arabia, with Serbia trailing 1-0.

Amine Adli also got minutes off the bench, as he played the final 23 minutes for Morocco in their 2-1 win over Paraguay.

Alex Jimenez was not in the Spain U21 squad that beat Kosovo 2-0, and Marcos Senesi was not involved for Argentina in their 5-0 win over Zambia.
