Unfortunately for Forest the outlay has not resulted in improvements on the pitch and for the third time in four Premier League seasons they are once again battling relegation.

The payments are £1m less than the £13m they paid in the previous 12 month period. It also places them in the lower end of the Premier League.

By comparison Chelsea paid out a whopping, league-high £65m, with Aston Villa second with £38m. Man City and Liverpool at £37m and £34m respectively round-out the top four.

Forest’s exact total of £12,210,822 is the 16th highest in the division, below them Fulham spent £11m, Everton £10m and Burnley £7m.
