'No hiding' - Jarrod Bowen's West Ham warning ahead of Leeds United FA Cup clash & relegation…

The Hammers captain will face Leeds United twice before the season is over.

West Ham’s FA Cup quarter-final against Leeds United will be followed by seven ‘finals’ as they look to climb out of the relegation zone, insists captain Jarrod Bowen.

West Ham currently occupy the third relegation spot but while Leeds are three places clear, only four points separate the pair with Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest in between. There is a world in which that May game confirms relegation for one while ruling it out at the death for another.

Bowen spent his international break twice coming off the bench for England against Uruguay and Japan, but focus will quickly turn back to club football. And the Hammers captain has not shied away from the importance of those next few weeks.

“The full focus now is on club football,” he said after England’s 1-0 defeat to Japan on Tuesday. “My focus is always on West Ham. We’ve got the chance for an FA Cup semi-final. I’ve got a chance to come here (Wembley) and lead them out, which would be such a special thing for me.

“And then make no mistake, the next seven games, they’re cup finals as well. There’s no hiding away from the situation. I go back there and keep trying to step up and keep trying to keep my club in the Premier League. It’s a big challenge coming up but I’m ready for it.”

Following Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final, West Ham will have the chance to gain some early ground on Leeds when they host Wolves on the Friday evening. Farke’s men will have to watch all their rivals in action before travelling to Manchester United on the Monday night.

That might be Leeds’ toughest remaining game, however, with current bottom two Wolves and Burnley both due at Elland Road alongside mid-table Brighton. After travelling to Old Trafford and Bournemouth, the Whites also go to fellow relegation candidates Tottenham and then West Ham on the final day.
