This past week was a very big one for Leeds United. Ahead of the international break, the club had two of their key players called up for international duty.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Anton Stach joined the England and German national teams for the break in March. It was a significant milestone as the duo had been out of favour for years before they both arrived this season. The 49ers beat off serious competition to land Stach, and the midfielder has been a huge part of the team this campaign.

When Leeds signed Calvert-Lewin, some parts of the fanbase had serious concerns over his fitness. But so far, the former Everton man has been available for most of this season, and is the club’s top scorer in all competitions.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin could miss huge Leeds United clash
The striker got his chance in the friendly against Uruguay, with Thomas Tuchel giving him around 30 minutes to prove himself. Before the game, the England boss mentioned that the Leeds striker would be in the battle to make the World Cup squad as a backup for Harry Kane. The 29-year old was allowed to return to Thorp Arch before the game against Japan.
Daniel Farke has been speaking to the press ahead of this weekend’s FA Cup clash against West Ham. And he has some unfortunate news as he revealed that his star striker could have picked up an injury.
”Everyone back from today. Handful just recovery session. Back in team training tomorrow. A few minor issues and little knocks, will take some late decisions on who will travel with us.”
”Anton Stach was struggling with some hip problems yesterday but shouldn’t be a problem.
”Dominic ended yesterday’s training session earlier because he felt some hamstring problems. Same today, not involved so a question mark behind his availability.”

Huge blow for the Whites
Even though it has not been confirmed, the striker being out with a hamstring problem at this point of the season is bad news. It takes a long time for that type of injury to clear up. Dan James has been struggling with this all year and has rarely been available. Daniel Farke could be without the best attacker in his team, and it would be even worse if it comes during the run-in. The season could have taken a huge turn for the Whites if their star striker misses the next few games.
