The Friedkin Group have helped Everton to dodge a major bullet in avoiding John Textor as their owner.
Everton have gone from strength to strength over the last 15 months under the ownership of The Friedkin Group.

The club are in a considerably better financial position than the one the Friedkins inherited, but that may not have been the case if Textor won the bidding in the takeover.

Everton dodge John Textor disaster amid administration blow
Textor admitted he thought he’d won the bidding for Everton, which led to him demanding a meeting with the Friedkins.
Fortunately that was not the case, with Textor losing control of Eagle Football multi-club empire after its main investor placed their UK holdings into administration.

“Certainly the view I hold, and I think so, is a point of comments from fans of Everton and Sheffield Wednesday is ‘dodged a bullet’,” said Kieran Maguire on The Price of Football podcast.
“He was a pain in the backside to deal with, and I don’t think he was in the best interest of the club.”
Everton News’ finance expert Adam Williams also admitted Everton dodged a bullet with Textor, who has proven a divisive character.
The Toffees could not ask to be in a much better of a position just over one year on from their takeover by the Friedkins.
Everton recorded a small loss of £8m in their latest accounts, with revenue expected to skyrocket over the coming years following the opening of the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Had Textor won the race for the club, Everton would have likely found themselves in the middle of a significant off-field headache involving the American.
