Andy Gray would be amazed if the Everton hierarchy doesn't offer David Moyes a new contract.
Moyes signed a two-and-a-half-year deal when succeeding Sean Dyche last January, with Everton one point above the relegation places
And having finished 23 points above the drop spots last season, Moyes has transformed the Blues from relegation candidates to challenging for Europe this season.
Everton head into their final seven games of the campaign eighth in the Premier League and just three points off the top five.
And when it comes to a new deal for Moyes, Gray believes: “I would like to think there's no argument for him to get a new contract, no argument at all for me.
“Give it to him, absolutely. I would be amazed if Everton doesn't offer David a new contract. I'd be disappointed as well. I think David's done a fantastic job. I don't think he gets the credit he deserves. But I don't think it worries him.
"I think he's happy to get on with his job and try to win as many football matches for Everton as he can.”
Prior to the back-to-back victories over Burnley and Chelsea before the international break, the Blues had found life at Hill Dickinson Stadium tough going.
But Gray, speaking via BetSelect.co.uk, believes it is too easy to say Everton’s poor home has been down to their new ground.

He said: “I think it's too simplistic to say it's the stadium. Many teams struggle to settle into new stadiums. I get that. And it may be a part of it, but I don't think it's the whole reason.
“A lot of it will be about teams coming there, looking around, and going, 'Oh wow, I like this, I'm going to enjoy playing out here'.
“They probably raise their levels a little when they come to that stadium, as opposed to Goodison. I also think that, in football, it's far more difficult to create than to destroy.
“It's far easier to organise a good defence, which David has done. I think the defence is as good as any around. They just need to create enough chances to score enough goals.

“And at the moment, Everton haven't found a centre-forward, and I think that's part of the problem. They’ve got talented footballers, there's no doubt about it.
“Talented footballers with creative ability, just not enough finishers. So they obviously don't score enough goals. I'd like to see them score more goals, particularly at home.
“I'm confident that we'll get to the end of the season, then we'll begin the new season having had 12 months there, and then the boys will feel more relaxed and more at home.”
