Everton are going to have an important decision on what to do with Isaac Heath this summer, as an early cash-in may be the wrong move.
The left-wing back was sent out to Accrington Stanley on loan last summer, where he has been learning his trade in League 2 under John Doolan.
It was the 21-year-old’s first move in the professional game, and one that many would say was overdue.
He has been a consistent starter for Stanley and has already shown that he is playing at a level below his quality in the fourth tier.
Heath will return to Finch Farm this summer, but Everton will have a big call on what the next steps with the versatile defender are.

Heath’s contract with Everton expires in 2027, after he put pen to paper on a new deal in July of 2025, before leaving for his first taste of the men’s game.
The loan move always looked likely, as the Englishman won Everton’s U21s Player of the Season award in the campaign before.

The youngster has an average FotMob rating of 7.01 and has 11 goal involvements across all competitions.
Everton could be offered a multi-million-pound offer for Heath this summer, but it would be in their best interests to hand him a new deal.
The Toffees could see an even better chance of profit in the future if the defender were to show his class in an improved league on loan next campaign.
What has Heath’s manager said about him?
Accrington boss Doolan told the Liverpool Echo earlier in the season that Heath is playing at too low a level in League Two, with the Championship in the Everton star’s prospects.
Doolan said: “I think you’re looking at the top end of League One or the Championship. He’s too good for League Two.”

Given his performances are above average in his first season in the professional game, it would be no surprise to see a low-end Championship club come in for the Finch Farm gem this summer.
It’s crucial that the Blues get Heath down to a long-term deal before making any further decision about his future in a couple of months’ time.
