Virgil van Dijk has reportedly shown openness to the possibility of leaving Liverpool this summer, with a shock double move involving Mohamed Salah said to be under consideration.
According to a report from Turkish Football, giants Galatasaray are exploring an ambitious plan to sign both Liverpool stars in the same transfer window.
The report claims club president Dursun Ozbek is working on a proposal aimed at bringing the experienced duo to Istanbul ahead of next season.
Salah’s future now lies away from Anfield, but the suggestion that van Dijk could also depart would represent a major development for Liverpool.
Turkish Football reports that van Dijk has connections to Galatasaray through former player Omer Bayram, who is described as acting as an unofficial intermediary between the two parties. Bayram is a close friend of van Dijk’s.
The same report also claims the Liverpool captain has already given the ‘green light’ to the idea of a potential move and has held private dialogue linked to the proposed transfer.

Galatasaray could have two Liverpool legends next season
Galatasaray have developed a reputation in recent seasons for targeting established stars with proven European pedigree.
The Turkish side have previously recruited experienced players capable of continuing to compete at a high level, particularly in European competitions. Leroy Sane recently joined the Turkish outfit, playing against Liverpool in the Champions League Round of 16 this season.
For Liverpool, the possibility of losing both Salah and van Dijk in the same summer would signal a dramatic turning point.
Both players have been central figures throughout one of the most successful periods in the club’s modern history.

Despite the speculation, there has been no confirmation that Liverpool are currently engaged in negotiations over such a move.
Van Dijk also remains under contract at Anfield, meaning any potential departure would require formal discussions between the clubs.
Losing Salah and van Dijk in a single summer would be as detrimental to the club’s immediate future as Jurgen Klopp’s exit from the club in 2023.
With all the uncertainty surrounding the Reds, it would be alarming to see the skipper leave this summer.
