Every player who decides they are going to leave Liverpool ends up having one regret, Jamie Carragher has said.
After a prolific nine years at Anfield, Mohamed Salah will become the latest to depart the Merseyside outfit once the 2025/26 season is over.
Salah will be hoping that he does not follow in the footsteps of the likes of Robbie Fowler and others who have told Carragher they wish they had never left.

Former Liverpool players wish they’d stayed
The former centre-back has been speaking to Steven Gerrard on this week’s episode of Stick to Football.
When doing so, he claimed that every ex-player he speaks to about leaving the Reds says the same thing.
Carragher explained: “Almost every player I speak to who left Liverpool, so Jordan’s probably one. Obviously you’ve (Steven Gerrard) mentioned you’d love to have played with Klopp, speaking to Robbie Fowler and they’re all players, they’re used to playing and everybody always says the same thing.
“They wish they’d have stayed.
“I’ve never played for another club so I can’t understand probably what it must be and it may be a drop from one of the real biggest clubs in the country to a level down. It’s just interesting that everybody always says the same thing.”

Players who could leave Liverpool this summer aside from Mohamed Salah
Aside from Salah, it would not be surprising if several more players left in the summer.
Ibrahima Konate and Andy Robertson are currently on course to become free agents at the end of June.
Konate does seem more likely to stay, while Robertson has been coy about his future at Anfield beyond this season.
Elsewhere, there has been talk this term that Joe Gomez could leave ahead of 2026/27.
There could also be question marks over Federico Chiesa and Wataru Endo, neither of whom have been able to earn regular minutes this season.
Cody Gakpo has been linked with an exit as well, though it remains to be seen how much truth there is in that rumour.
