Liverpool are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the summer transfer window. According to UOL, the Reds, along with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City, have made contact with Eduardo Conceicao’s representatives.
Interest in Eduardo intensified during the Copinha tournament, where his explosive pace drew comparisons to Real Madrid and Brazil star Vinicius Junior.
Despite the attention, Palmeiras remain in a strong negotiating position, having secured the youngster’s future with his first professional contract in January, which runs until 2029 and includes a €100million release clause for clubs outside Brazil.
Palmeiras have already rejected multiple bids for Eduardo Conceicao. Following the high-profile departures of Endrick to Real Madrid and Estevao Willian to Chelsea, Palmeiras have identified Conceicao as their next star.
The striker, currently starring for the Under-20 side, has already attracted intense interest from Europe’s elite. Joao Paulo Sampaio, coordinator of Palmeiras’ youth academy, confirmed that the club have turned down substantial offers for the teenager. Most of these bids have come from English clubs.
Speaking to ESPN’s ‘Fala a Fonte’ program, Sampaio said: “Allan is on that list [of upcoming major sales]. We’ve already received bids in the range of €30m to €35m, so it’s going to be a significant sale.
“Then there’s a 16-year-old boy from our academy, Eduardo, who is about to play in the U-17 South American Championship for the national team; we’ve also received two offers for him between €20m and €25m, excluding bonuses. So, in my view, these two will really bolster our finances.”
The club’s board and Eduardo’s representatives are united in their stance that a transfer will only be considered for fees exceeding €60million, in line with the precedent set by Endrick and Estevao.
With a €100million release clause in his contract, Palmeiras face no pressure to sell cheaply. The long-term deal means any Premier League suitor will need to pay a premium to secure the forward, who has consistently played above his age group.
His rise has been rapid, scoring 13 goals in 38 games for the U17s while still eligible for the U15s. Liverpool are set to have two new additions to their squad next season.
The most high-profile signing is Jeremy Jacquet, who agreed to a £60million move from Rennes in February, while Austria Wien prospect Ifeanyi Ndukwe will also join Anfield this summer.
