Morgan Rogers stance on leaving Aston Villa amid Man Utd links

Morgan Rogers has his sights set on a big move away from Aston Villa following transfer links to Manchester United.

The transfer window will open soon, which means Manchester United fans are hoping to see a level of investment that will take the team to the next level.

Securing qualification for the Champions League would bring an additional bonus: extra money to spend on new players.

With that in mind, United have no shortage of transfer targets. From central midfielders to left-sided attackers, it remains to be seen which players take priority when the transfer market reopens for the summer.

Morgan Rogers open to leaving Aston Villa

Ineos have enjoyed transfer success shopping in the Premier League.

Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha are fine examples of that after hitting the ground running after their moves to Old Trafford last summer.

Unsurprisingly, many of the players linked to United now are playing in the Premier League. They include Adam Wharton, Carlos Baleba, Sandro Tonali and Elliot Anderson.

Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers has also been linked to United following an impressive 2025/26 campaign under Unai Emery.

Rogers, 23, has scored 10 goals and registered seven assists in 44 appearances this term. He has played the majority of those games as an attacking midfielder, although his record on the left wing is equally strong in terms of goal contributions.

According to The Sun, Rogers would be open to leaving Aston Villa for one of the Premier League’s bigger clubs.

The report claims United are in the mix for Rogers’ signature along with a list of admirers, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.

It is understood that Rogers wants to join a team that is consistently pushing to win major trophies. That may not be the case at United this season, but there have been signs of improvement since Michael Carrick became interim head coach in January.

Carrick has already worked with Rogers, yet it remains to be seen if the 44-year-old interim head coach will have any say in transfers with his own future unsolved.

When does Morgan Rogers’ contract expire?

The biggest problem facing any potential suitor when it comes to Rogers is his current contract at Villa.

The England international put pen to paper over a six-year deal last November.

That means Rodgers’ contract will run until 2031.

However, this won’t stop suitors from pursuing a deal for the talented forward, especially given Villa’s financial situation.

If they drop out of the top five and fail to qualify for the Champions League, Villa may have to pay the price by cashing in on their best player.

There will be no shortage of clubs trying to take advantage of that given that Rogers is Premier League proven.
