Rangers and Wolverhampton Wanderers are among the clubs to have shown transfer interest in BK Häcken’s Silas Andersen. Danny Röhl’s side were keen on bringing him to Ibrox in the winter market but a move didn’t take shape.
Back in January, Sport Witness covered claims from Denmark that Rangers are ahead of Celtic in the transfer race.
It’s unclear whether Röhl’s side are still keen on securing the player’s services in the summer. If the Ibrox club are in the mix, they’ll face competition from Wolves and others.
On March 21st, Sport Witness covered claims from Sweden of the Premier League side wanting to bring him to Molineux after this season.
The midfielder joined the Swedish club from FC Utrecht in January 2025 and played 46 matches, managing six goals and three assists.
His league stats last year are as follows:
Appearances: 26
Starts: 24
Total minutes: 2,183
Minutes per game: 84
Duels won per game: 7.4
Ball recovered per game: 7.0
Tackles per game: 3.2
Clearances: 3.3
Last month, the 21-year-old signed a new contract, which lasts until December 2029.
Rangers and Wolves transfer interest
Bold now report Danny Röhl’s Rangers, Wolverhampton Wanderers and FC Köln lined up to sign Silas Andersen in January. BK Häcken had also rejected a DKK 30m [€4m] offer from the German club.
The Denmark U21 international, for his part, ended up signing an extension.
He represented his country in the last international break, giving Bold an opportunity to have a chat with him. They point out Rangers, Wolves and FC Köln links, and ask him what convinced him to sign an extension.
“Häcken felt that I had done well and shown a lot. They thought that I deserved a little more pocket money, if you can put it that way. We had a short talk about a possible extension, and it quickly fell into place,” he said.
“I was very happy with what they presented to me. I think it was about rewarding me for what I have done at the club – they wanted to give a little back.”
“I’m really happy to play here. This is where I had my breakthrough, and it’s still ongoing. We made a plan when I moved here, which was that I would play a lot of games and develop myself.”
The plan, according to Bold, is to change clubs in the next window and that won’t change even with the new contract.
This provides Rangers and Wolves a fresh opportunity to sign him and recent claims from Sweden state Rob Edwards’ side are in the mix for the summer.
Contract, value and agent info
Transfermarkt value Silas Andersen at €2m, and in January, BK Häcken sporting director Martin Ericsson insisted his side aren’t ruling out selling him for SEK 100m [€9.2m].
Danish agency Pro 11 Management are taking care of the player’s interest and future.
