Alexander Isak’s return to training ahead of Liverpool’s FA Cup clash with Manchester City has got his teammates excited.
The Reds have struggled on for three whole months without the input of their record signing, missing his uncanny ability to put the ball in the net terribly.
It remains to be seen whether Arne Slot deems Isak ready to feature against City on Saturday, but as footage emerged from Isak‘s first full session back on Thursday, it is clear that every Liverpool player is just delighted to see him back.

Liverpool players excited to see Isak back in contention
As soon as Isak walked through the doors of the AXA Training Centre on Thursday, LFCTV‘s cameras captured the mood amongst his teammates perfectly.
Applause rings out from somewhere off screen as the No. 9 wanders nonchalantly in, with Virgil van Dijk the first to greet him at the coffee bar.
“My guy!” says the captain, clasping Isak’s hand. “You back?”
After Isak confirms his return with a smile, Van Dijk hits him with a, “congratulations, say no more,” as the striker points and smiles.

Curtis Jones was equally delighted to see Isak geared up for the training pitches. “You back, back today?” the midfielder asks as Isak approaches him in the canteen.
With the former Newcastle man confirming his participation, Jones lets out an excited giggle, furiously shaking his teammate’s hand with a grin plastered on his face.
Jeremie Frimpong also could not hide his delight upon seeing Isak, approaching the Sweden international with a big cuddle and a smile as he sat having some food.
Isak looks fully settled with his teammates
Ever since Isak arrived at Liverpool in September, there has been a feeling that he has not quite settled into life in red.
The injury obviously made that even more difficult, but in a way it looks to have relaxed Isak and allowed him to acclimatise fully away from the spotlight.

Alexis Mac Allister painted Isak as something of a loner during the early days of his rehabilitation, but judging by the scenes seen on Thursday, he now looks more relaxed and at home amongst the other Liverpool players.
With the Reds in slightly better form than when he exited the team, hopefully that should help him slot straight back in for a crucial few weeks.
It is likely that Saturday’s cup clash will come too soon for Isak, but with more training under his belt, a comeback during the PSG tie is definitely on the cards.
As Liverpool players lick their lips at the prospect of having one of the Premier League’s best marksmen back in the side, the chemistry looks like it’s finally starting to grow. Fingers crossed there are no more setbacks.
