AC Milan are once again casting their eyes over towards Real Madrid in their search for promising players for the future.
As we wrote about in a recent feature, the Milan management have invested heavily in acquiring young gems for the future. From David Odogu to Alphadjo Cissè, over €35m has been spent to try and bolster the ranks of Milan Futuro and the Primavera.
Opportunities from Spain
According to the Spanish source Diario AS, there could be a mass exodus of youngsters from Real Madrid’s Castilla (youth) team, of which practically 40% could be sold. As the season approaches its final stretch, the bidders are piling up and approaches are becoming more frequent.
Víctor Valdepeñas is one of those with an uncertain future, a defender who can play centre-back or left-back. Real Madrid improved his salary in December and also raised his release clause above €50m. Several clubs are in the running, with Arsenal and Milan named.
One of the other names (out of nine) worth monitoring is Diego Aguado. Carlo Ancelotti already gave him his first-team debut last season. Now it’s Arbeloa who’s given him a role, playing the last half hour against Elche. He is also a left-back who can play centre-back.
Several LaLiga clubs are monitoring his situation, while Dortmund even offered €6m last year. Milan, Parma and Newcastle have him on their radar, and his future remains up in the air. The end of this season will determine what happens in the next.
