Manchester United have now been gifted the chance to sign an Aston Villa star this summer in a major boost for INEOS.
Aston Villa star has secret 'understanding' to leave this summer
Those at Old Trafford have plenty to be optimistic about this summer. They're on course to qualify for the Champions League and finish as high as third in the Premier League - an excellent achievement considering Ruben Amorim's disastrous tenure.
Much of the credit will rightly go to Michael Carrick if Champions League football is secured. The interim boss has been as close to perfect as possible since arriving - losing just once in 10 games.
It may not prove to be enough for the permanent gig, but Carrick has certainly done his managerial career no harm by turning Man United's season around in quickfire fashion.
Instead of Carrick, it could be Julian Nagelsmann who arrives this summer. The Germany manager has a World Cup to contend with before anything, but could make a crucial decision about his future if those from Old Trafford come calling.
The impressive 38-year-old would certainly receive transfer backing at Man United, too. INEOS are already planning a summer full of reinforcements, having set their sights on the likes of Sandro Tonali.

He's been in excellent form this season.
It seems as though their main focus will be poaching Premier League talent in similar fashion to last summer, which saw Bryan Mbuemo and Matheus Cunha arrive from Brentford and Wolves respectively.
If that does prove to be the case, then the Red Devils could take full advantage of a recent update.
According to The Sun, Man United have now been gifted the chance to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa, with the England international striking a secret 'understanding' with Villa chiefs and Unai Emery to let him leave if a big offer arrives.
£80m Rogers would transform Man Utd
Both player and club reportedly feel as though this summer is the right time for a move to take place and that could be down to Aston Villa's finances.
The Athletic's Jacob Tanswell recently revealed that the Villans are once again facing financial constraints relating to new SCR (Squad Cost Ratio) rules and the sale of Rogers would be the simplest way to ease those problems.

Valued at £80m by those in the Midlands, the England international reportedly has an understanding with Aston Villa that he can go should the deal suit his ambitions and the club's situation - gifting Man United and others the chance to swoop in.
It's easy to see why Rogers has his sights set on a big move. The versatile midfielder has scored 10 goals and assisted another seven in all competitions this season and could yet push ahead of Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham to start for England this summer. That's the level he's at these days.
Whether Man United get the chance to take advantage of Villa's SCR problems, but he's certainly one to watch.
