Arne Slot delivered a further blow to Liverpool’s top four challenge by revealing that Alisson will not be available until “the end of the season”.
The Brazilian shot-stopper has had 11 separate injuries in the past three seasons.
After recently signing a new deal, Liverpool will know it’s a risk after ongoing injury issues. Of course, the 33-year-old is a legendary figure and deserves his extension, but the Reds need him on the field.
Alexander Isak is in contention for minutes this weekend when Liverpool travels to the Etihad for a tough FA Cup fixture.
Isak’s availability again this season had been in doubt, but the Swedish striker has recovered ahead of time.
Isak hopes to get as much game time as possible ahead of this summer’s World Cup. The Swedes prevailed in an exciting play-off fixture against Poland earlier in the week.
Alisson takes to social media to bring clarity to the situation
Many fans felt Alisson could miss 6-7 weeks after Arne Slot’s earlier comments. However, this doesn’t seem to be the case. Slot hinted that Alisson may not play again until the end of the season.
Alisson has brought clarity to the situation surrounding his latest injury. He has taken to social media to ease fans’ fears.
“I haven’t suffered a new injury I’m in the treatment phase, and the plan is to be in full playing condition by the end of April”, the Liverpool goalkeeper said.
Não tive nova lesão. Estou em fase de tratamento, e o plano é estar em plenas condições de jogo até o final de abril!

What other games could Alisson miss
No time is a good time to suffer an injury, but with Liverpool facing PSG on two occasions this month, the injury comes at an extremely important time.
Arne Slot’s side will also face Everton, Fulham, and Crystal Palace in the Premier League in April.
On the 3rd of May, Liverpool travels to Old Trafford in what could define the summer’s transfer budget. Should Liverpool to fail to qualify for the Champions League, the Reds will have much less to spend as they aim to strengthen their squad after a dismal effort at retaining the Premier League title.
